16 Month Update

November, 2022 Dimitri continues to improve by making rehabilitation a priority.

He is having less pain and the sensation of feeling the cold is back in his hands. He has even been able to travel domestically for work, To help with the rewiring of his brain to his body, Dimitri is taking dance lessons which will also help him with his balance and coordination. He continues his weekly Physio Core Yoga classes which really helps ease his stiffness, and pain and move his body in all different positions. He has noticed a huge positive difference after every class with less pain, increased mobility, and stronger coordination/balance. Dimitri has navigated climbing stairs in a busy football stadium and was walking across the narrow aisle to the seat on a few occasions. This is a very big deal as you get bumped, and jostled, with all the senses in motion to react so he would not fall on the concrete stairs.

I have started sharing Dimitri's remarkable recovery with my peers at the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and the University of Saskatchewan. By spreading his story, our goal is to create awareness of the benefit of early, intensive physical therapy. You too can help by spreading his remarkable story by giving other folks hope and awareness.
